Provider Enrollment

David Ostrander leads the Provider Enrollment Unit of the Office of Inspector General. The unit is the gatekeeper for the enrollment of providers and practitioners for the Georgia Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids® programs. The enrollment process includes credentialing, endorsement and licensure verification to ensure that all providers are in good standing in the community.

Providers can enroll in Georgia Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids through the Georgia Medicaid Management Information System (GAMMIS) Web Portal at Provider Enrollment forms can be found on the GAMMIS site by clicking on Provider Information> Forms> Enrollment.

Provider Enrollment oversees and monitors the review and processing of practitioner applications, conducted by DCH’s fiscal agent Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services (HPES). Provider Enrollment works closely with its internal legal staff as well as the agency’s Office of General Counsel to terminate providers who violate Medicaid policies and procedures.

Additionally, the unit has implemented several preventive processes, including new background screenings, site visits and enhanced database checks. Processes have been streamlined for more efficiency and ease of enrollment without sacrificing the OIG’s commitment to deterring fraud and abuse.
