What happens when I report fraud to the Inspector General?
- Allegations that appear to be fraudulent in nature will be reviewed by either the Program Integrity or Special Investigations Unit.
- At the conclusion of an investigation, a summary of the facts is prepared and may be shared with the DCH Commissioner, the Attorney General’s Office (Medicaid Control Fraud Unit) and/or anyone the OIG decides may have an official interest in the results.
What will happen after making a report?
- The decision to pursue a complaint either through an investigation, audit, or review will be determined by the Office of Inspector General. Case updates cannot be provided until the case is closed/final.
