Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Program

Georgia is leading the way to incentivize providers that utilize electronic health records (EHRs) in meaningful ways to help Georgia and the nation improve the quality, safety and efficiency of patient care. The Medicaid Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program (formerly the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program) is a voluntary, multi-year, multi-stage program administered by the Georgia Department of Community Health. The program is 100 percent federally funded through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The PI Program is limited to eligible Medicaid professionals for six years of participation, and eligible Medicaid hospitals for three years as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology.
