Open Records
The Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq.) provides that all records are subject to disclosure to the public, unless specifically exempted for reasons such as an order by a Georgia court or by law. The Act requires all public agencies to respond in writing to Open Records requests and to allow any person to inspect and copy public records, which are not protected by a statute or court order, no later than three business days after a request to review records is made.
The Commissioner of the Department of Community Health has designated an Open Records Officer to review all requests submitted to the department. For assistance with Open Records, please e-mail [email protected].
