Reimbursements Approved for Legally Responsible Individuals Under Georgia Pediatric Program
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approved an amendment to Georgia’s 1115 Planning for Healthy Babies demonstration to allow the Department of Community Health to reimburse legally responsible individuals (LRIs) for providing personal care services (PCS) to individuals under age 21 who are enrolled in the Georgia Pediatric Program through December 31, 2029.
This amendment helps to ensure continuity of services for beneficiaries who were receiving PCS from LRIs during the COVID-19 public health emergency and increases access to PCS for individuals who are not able to identify a PCS provider, allowing the beneficiary to receive care in their home or a community setting.
