Medicaid Advisory Committee
The division of Medical Assistance Plans (Division) of the Department of Community Health established an advisory committee (Committee) pursuant to the Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 431.12, Section 1902(a) (4) – Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC). The Committee consists of board-certified physicians, other health professionals, consumer group advocate, Medicaid members, and additional member specialties as needed. The Committee shall consist of no less than twelve 12 members by way of direct appointment by the commissioner of the Department of Community Health and/or the executive director of Medicaid.
MAC shall work collaboratively to:
- Provide input on Medicaid health policy.
- Cultivate a better understanding between the health care provider, payers, and consumers of care.
- Partner with the Department to promote its goals and objectives to enhance the delivery of health care to its Medicaid members. MAC shall also serve to promote the partnership between the healthcare community and the Division, to improve the delivery of healthcare to Medicaid recipients.
The Committee meets quarterly on the third Wednesday in August, December, March, June from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
