CMS Approves Appendix K Amendment to NOW and COMP Waivers

On August 2, 2022, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Georgia’s request to amend the 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, Comprehensive Supports Waiver Program (COMP) and New Options Waiver (NOW), with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Appendix K to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CMS acknowledges effective July 1, 2022, the state will implement two percent rate increases for the identified services within the Appendix K. Additionally, the state will raise individual service maximum annual allowances by two percent to align with the rate increases.
