Resources for Reopening Non-Emergency Healthcare Facilities

The Department of Community Health (DCH) appreciates the commitment and desire of the provider community to provide in-person services to Georgia’s Medicaid members. In order to help facilitate the process of reopening non-emergency healthcare facilities, DCH would like to share certain resources on how best to safely open for business.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued recommendations on opening non-emergent non-COVID-19 Healthcare Facilities. These recommendations can be found at https://www.cms.gov/files/document/covid-recommendations-reopening-facilities-provide-non-emergent-care.pdf. CMS has also provided guidance for patients seeking care. This important guidance for members can be found in English at https://www.cms.gov/files/document/covid-what-patients-should-know-about-seeking-health-care.pdf and in Spanish at https://www.cms.gov/files/document/covid-what-patients-should-know-about-seeking-health-care-spanish.pdf

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains a webpage specific to COVID-19 at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. This webpage provides information for what you should do to protect yourself as an individual.  It also contains recommendations for operations for Healthcare and Public Health Facilities.

Additionally, the Georgia Department of Public Health maintains a COVID-19 webpage https://dph.georgia.gov/health-topics/coronavirus-covid-19. The webpage contains links to recent data on COVID-19, Administrative Orders for Public Health Control, guidance for individuals, and industry guidance.

Finally, DCH maintains a webpage at https://dch.georgia.gov/how-do-i/covid-19-ga-dch. This webpage maintains the latest information specific to the Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids® response to COVID-19.  Members and providers can also submit specific questions to a dedicated COVID-19 mailbox at [email protected]. DCH staff monitor and respond to each inquiry sent to the mailbox.

We appreciate your continued commitment to Georgia Medicaid.
