State Health Benefit Plan Announces Contract with New Pharmacy Benefits Manager

July 25, 2017

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and its State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) Division today announced a contract with CVSHealth as the new Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM). CVSHealth will start serving members beginning January 1, 2018.

DCH released an Invitation for Proposal (IFP) in April of this year publicizing its search for qualified vendors to provide PBM services for the SHBP members who are covered under the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) statewide plan options.

Details regarding the 2018 SHBP plan design will become available during the next Board of Community Health meeting scheduled for August 10, 2017. This meeting is open to the public.
