Important information about your PeachCare for Kids® coverage

Your PeachCare for Kids account transitioned to a new eligibility system, called Georgia Gateway, as of February 6, 2017.  

Georgia Gateway does not change existing eligibility requirements.

Information about the new Georgia Gateway:

Georgia Gateway allows individuals to screen, apply for, and renew a broad range of public service benefits administered by various State agencies in Georgia. Gateway replaces the old online site,, as the new self-service web portal where new and existing customers can apply for, manage, and renew their benefits as well as access the premium payment system.

In addition to being able to request benefits, customers with a Customer Portal account can check the status of their applications once submitted, view details about their benefits, and report changes.

As part of eligibility in Georgia Gateway, we will look for the most beneficial coverage for your child(ren) based on your income and household situation. If your income qualifies your child for Medicaid, we will move your child(ren) to the appropriate type of Medicaid without you needing to do anything.

If your income increases within the PeachCare for Kids income limits, your child(ren) will be placed on PeachCare for Kids without you having to reapply.

How does this impact my PeachCare for Kids case?

If you had an application or renewal in progress prior to January 19, 2017, we are in the process of completing those requests.

If you call to check on your application or renewal that you started before January 19, 2017, you may receive information that your case has been denied. This is not the final result and means that we have not finished your case.  Please be assured that we are working diligently to get all of these requests reviewed as soon as possible.

If your child was active or enrolled prior to January 19, 2017, there was no change to your case.  If you are trying to make a premium payment, you will need to use your new Georgia Gateway account number as described below. If you have not had a child enrolled in PeachCare for Kids since October 2016 or earlier, you will need to reapply.

To ensure coverage for our members continues without current members having to do anything more, February and March Premiums are being waived. Your next premium payment will not be due until March 1st for April coverage. If you have already made your premium payment for February or March, it will be applied to April or a future month.

What do I need to do?

All PeachCare for Kids families have a new Gateway case ID which you will need to use the online bill payment system for your next due premium. Your new Gateway case ID can be retrieved by going to

Follow these instructions:

  • At the top of the page, you will see an entry field for your former PeachCare account number.
  • Enter it and press the button to lookup your new Gateway case ID.  
  • Please write down your new Gateway case number.
  • Once you have your new number, click “next” and you will be taken to Georgia Gateway.
  • Once on Georgia Gateway, if you have a current COMPASS account, please use your COMPASS user ID and password to log in.

If you do not have a COMPASS account, you can create your new online account by following the directions on the Georgia Gateway homepage. After creating an online account follow these instructions:

  • Link your current PeachCare for Kids® benefits to access information and manage your account.
  • To link your account, you will need to use either your social security number or your Gateway client ID.
  • If you have now or have had in the past benefits for other public benefits programs such as Food Stamps or Medicaid, your Gateway client ID is the same client ID for those programs.

Over the next six months, we are transitioning the rest of the eligibility programs Georgia Gateway. As such, when you go to the Georgia Gateway address, or the Georgia COMPASS address, to manage your account you will first see a page which is used to direct clients to the correct site for their benefits account.

Follow the instructions on the page to get to the right website. Enter your date of birth, answer a question about current or historical benefits, enter one of the identifiers, answer if you are applying for new benefits, and enter the county in which you live, and then click next. The system will direct you correctly to either COMPASS or Gateway to manage your benefits.

Additionally, if your child is currently covered by PeachCare for Kids, you will also be getting a letter in the mail in the next few days with your new Gateway case ID number to assist with creating your online account.
