February 18, 2015

ATLANTA (February 18, 2015) – The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) announces the hire of Jonathan Duttweiler as Deputy Director of Medicaid Member Services & Policy, effective March 1, 2015. Duttweiler will bring more than 25 years of experience in state government to DCH, where he will specifically focus on the continued implementation of Medicaid’s Integrated Eligibility System (IES) in his new role.  The hiring announcement was made this week by DCH Commissioner Clyde L. Reese III, Esq.

“I am pleased the Department can bring someone with Jonathan’s knowledge and experience to the Medicaid program,” said Commissioner Reese. “His years of experience with DFCS and his skill set are an ideal match for the ongoing work within the IES.”

Previously, Duttweiler has been the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) lead for IES, and has implemented significant policy changes stemming from the Affordable Care Act.  In 2007, Jonathan was chosen to be the DFCS OFI State Office Medicaid Program & Policy Unit manager, where he has served for nearly eight years. During this time, Duttweiler has successfully guided the inclusion of Medicaid eligibility into Georgia COMPASS, the online customer portal for DFCS eligibility programs, and acted as the business lead in the procurement of DFCS’ Document Imaging System and the Adobe Notices Project, which revamped all of DFCS’ eligibility notices.

Duttweiler earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia in 1978 and a Masters of Divinity degree from Emory University in 1982.
