Appendix K Update
Appendix K Amendment Withdrawn
On Tuesday June 2, 2020, DCH submitted an additional Appendix K amendment for all Home and Community Based Waivers to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The purpose of the Appendix K amendment submission was to clarify waiver providers’ ability to bill days in excess of the Nursing Home Retainer Payment limit without the member returning to service. On Friday June 5th, DCH was informed by CMS that it could not approve the Appendix K amendment submission. DCH in response has withdrawn the request as required by CMS.
DCH will continue to work with CMS and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities on innovative ways to deliver services to waiver members during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
