House Bill 987 Approved by House Health and Human Services Committee
ATLANTA (February 26, 2020) – On February 25, 2020, House Bill 987 received unanimous approval from the House Health and Human Services Committee. Georgia House of Representatives member Sharon Cooper chairs the committee. The bill is designed to provide additional measures of protection for Georgia’s elderly in assisted living communities and personal care homes.
DCH Chief Compliance and Technology Officer Joe Hood represented the agency during the hearing.
“We appreciate our legislators for their continued advocacy on behalf of the many Georgians we at DCH work so hard to serve,” said Hood.
HB 987 will now move to the House Rules Committee.
