Redesign Decision TBA

Redesign Decision - To Be Announced This Summer

The redesign timeline has been updated to reflect the additional time necessary to address the following: continued and valuable input from all stakeholders; the need for further data and financial modeling; and the imminent ruling on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Please be assured that DCH is committed to developing a thoughtful redesign decision that will best meet our stated goals and strategies.

As a reminder, the ACA's expansion of the Medicaid population (if upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court with a decision expected this summer), begins on January 1, 2014. Additionally, the department's current contracts with the three Care Management Organizations that serve Medicaid members are in force through June 30, 2014.

Watch for the department's redesign decision announcement coming this summer.

Stakeholder task forces and workgroups continue to make valuable contributions to the decision-making phase of DCH's Medicaid and CHIP Redesign Initiative.

Created and constituted to serve throughout the redesign recommendation, procurement and implementation phases, the task force groups include representatives for: Providers; Children and Families; and Aged, Blind and Disabled. A stakeholder workgroup focused on Mental Health and Substance Abuse was also formed in early spring.  Each group is comprised of health care professionals, advocates and sister agencies.  All groups have met multiple times to provide insight and feedback to DCH. Additionally, internal DCH workgroups are focused on planning details that include data and financial modeling, operations and procurement.
