ATLANTA – Today, Dr. Rhonda Medows, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Health issued the following statement regarding the passage of the H.R. 2 the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Reauthorization Act of 2009.
“We applaud the passage of the SCHIP Reauthorization Bill by Congress. Once signed into law by President Obama, SCHIP reauthorization will provide continued healthcare coverage for families currently enrolled in PeachCare for KidsTM, the option to use SCHIP to address the needs of Georgia's growing number of uninsured, and the opportunity for more effective health care delivery using health information technology.”

The health benefits include primary, preventive, specialist, dental care and vision care.
