Stereotactic Radiosurgery Technical Advisory Committee
Stereotactic Radiosurgery Technical Advisory Committee
Currently, there are no rules or a State Health Plan for Stereotactic Radiosurgery. Upon approval by the Health Strategies Council, a Technical Advisory Committee has been formed to address the oversight and administration of this service in the State of Georgia. The committee is charged with reviewing the service to develop rules that address the needs of patients, consumers, regulators, and purchasers and reflect current industry practices.
Membership
The Department of Community Health and the Health Strategies Council sought to ensure that this committee’s membership was broadly-based and reflected a wide geographic representation. The goal of the Health Strategies Council was to create a diverse group that includes consumers, providers, and technical experts. Careful consideration was given to selecting both large and small public and private hospitals in urban and rural locations.
Work Products
The deliberation of the TAC will result in two products:
- A proposed set of rules that will provide standards of review of Certificate of Need applications for Stereotactic Radiosurgery Services, and
- A corresponding State Health Plan that will outline the planning process and provide the rationale for the development of the proposed rules.
