For Providers: The new Medicaid managed care program, Georgia Healthy Families, begins April 1, 2006. There are three health care plans available to Medicaid members and their preferred drug lists will most likely be different than the standard Georgia Medicaid program. Use this link to learn more about Georgia Healthy Families. Not all Medicaid members will be moving to a Medicaid managed care plan and some members may not know whether they are still under the Georgia Medicaid program or a new Medicaid managed care plan, so please ask for their member ID card.
For Members and Providers: Please be aware that Cylert/Pemoline is being discontinued by the manufacturer. Georgia Medicaid will continue to cover claims while the current retail supply is exhausted.
Remember, you can save time and lessen your administrative burdens by supporting the Georgia Medicaid preferred drug list (PDL). Use the link to the left to see the list of preferred drugs for each drug class. No prior authorization is required for the preferred agents on the list.
