Minority women's health sites

Black Women's Health - Dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and spiritual wellness of African-American women. Contains fact sheets developed by physicians, nutritionists, and ministerial staff on various health issues and other concerns for black women.
National Black Women's Health Project (NBWHP) - Seeks to improve the health of black women by providing wellness education and services, health information and advocacy. This site contains fact sheets on health issues of concern for black women and links to other helpful web sites
Indian Health Services - The mission of IHS is to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. This web site contains links to other sites containing health information and health policy issues.
Office of Research on Minority Health - Part of the National Institutes of Health, the ORMH works to improve the health status of underrepresented minorities. This site provides links to related health sites and informational resources for women of minority populations.

Women's health statistical information

Centers for Disease Control - National Center for Health Statistics - The NCHS data systems include data on vital events as well as information on health status, lifestyle and exposure to unhealthy influences, the onset of diagnosis of illness and disability, and the use of health care.
Georgia Department of Human Resources- Division of Public Health - Provides statistical health data and information specific to the state of Georgia.
Women's Health Statistical Information at NWHIC - Provides women's health statistics by category, leading causes of death for American women by racial and ethnic group, and links to other government health statistics sources and publications.
National Women's Law Center (NWLC) - The NWLC has developed a state-by-state women's health report card which provides a detailed assessment of government performance in promoting and advancing women's health.

Mental health

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) - This web site offers information about the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illnesses. Included are brochures and informational sheets, reports, press releases, fact sheets, and other educational materials.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association (SAMHSA) - SAMHSA offers access to informational clearinghouses addressing mental health issues and links to related sites.

American Social Health Association - (ASHA) - ASHA serves as valuable resource for information pertaining to sexually transmitted diseases and sexual health.

Violence against women
