State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP)

The State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) provides health insurance coverage to state employees, school system employees, retirees and their dependents. The Georgia Department of Community Health's Public Employee Health Benefits Division is responsible for day-to-day operations. The State Health Benefit Plan covered 692,759 people as of May 1, 2008.

On the following days and times, the SHBP Call Center staff will be attending Mandatory training.

May 6, 2008:      The Call Center will be unavailable to take calls from 11:00am-1:00pm

May 8, 2008:      The Call Center will open at 9:00am

May 9, 2008:      The Call Center will be unavailable to take calls from 10:45am-2:15pm

May 15, 2008:    The Call Center will open at 9:00am
