Employee of the Month

Liz Echols

The Georgia Department of Community Health’s (DCH) Office of Legislative and External Affairs is pleased to announce its selection of Elizabeth (Liz) Echols as the May 2008 Employee of the Month.  Liz works in the Constituents Services Office and handles legislative and constituent inquiries.  She has been with the state for the last 14 years.

Liz is the May Employee of the Month because of her work ethic, dedication, compassion, follow-through and character.  Even if the inquiry concerns the federal government or another state agency, Liz is responsive and attentive to the request as if it involved DCH.  No matter the situation, she helps facilitate contact personally and follows through to a resolution.

“Liz works tirelessly to help our constituents with their concerns,” said Carrie Downing, Director of the Office of Legislative and External Affairs.  “She instills a sense of hope to those that need it the most.   Her service to the department and to those she helps daily is a true testament of how success can be achieved through a combination of hard work and kindness.”

Liz’s customer service philosophy is “go the extra mile.”  She has even expanded her role in helping others by becoming fluent in Spanish, as well as being a role model for positive customer service.
