National Homeless Awareness Week: November 1 - 7, 2009
![]() |
Every year 70,000 children and individuals become homeless in Georgia. The Department of Community Health (DCH) and Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness, Inc. (GCEH) are partnering to address homeless awareness in Georgia and to spread key health messages to homeless citizens. The organizations will partner this year during National Homeless Awareness Week from November 1 - 7, 2009. DCH will provide educational pamphlets and prevention messages to local homeless shelters and providers to promote health safety within their organizations. Flu and H1N1 information along with the Roll Up Your Sleeve brochure will be made available to the homeless shelters and providers.
