DCH Congratulates Grantee Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, Inc. for its HIE Efforts
In November 2007, the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) awarded health information exchange (HIE) grants to four organizations. Among the grantees was Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, Inc.(CCSNPC) whose grant project centered on the planning and implementation of an electronic medical record and e-prescribing.
CCSNPC as selected as one of 18 finalists out of a pool of 99 applicants for the Creative Coast Alliance Innovation Awards in October 2008. DCH commends CCSNPC for this recognition and its efforts to expand the use of health information technology in the delivery of health care among the uninsured and underinsured in Chatham County.
The Innovation Awards honors local businesses, education and community organizations with demonstrated efforts in innovation in six categories. Six winners were chosen from the 18 finalists.
The Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, a private non-profit collaborative, represents a network of key health care providers and stakeholders supporting uninsured and under-insured county residents.
