H1N1 Vaccine Supply
As of March 5, 2010 the CDC has allocated 4,339,700 doses of the vaccine.
- 933,000 doses - nasal spray
- 3,406,700 doses - injectable
As of March 5, 2010 the State has placed orders for 3,460,500 doses of the vaccine.
- 649,800 doses – nasal spray
- 2,810,700 doses - injectable
*It is highly recommended that high risk population receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccine.
As of December 4, 2009 DCH has relaxed the restriction of vaccination efforts. Providers can distribute the age-appropriate formulation of 2009 H1N1 vaccine to anyone age 6 months and older upon request. However, your promotion efforts should still be targeting those who are at highest risk, i.e., those who are in the 5 high risk populations.
H1N1 High Risk Populations
- Children 6 months through 24 years of age
- Women who are pregnant
- People 25 through 64 years of age with chronic diseases such as diabetes or asthma
- People caring for infants less than 6 months of age
- Health care providers
