The Health Information Security and Privacy section of the Department of Community Health Web site is intended to serve as a central repository for resources related to the security and privacy of electronic health information. It should prove useful to healthcare consumers, healthcare providers, and others who are interested in learning about electronic health information.
Georgia is one of many states and territories involved in the Consumer Education and Engagement Collaborative of the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC), an effort to raise the awareness of the value and benefit of entering, exchanging, accessing, storing, and maintaining health information electronically. Much of the information in the Awareness Toolkit on the site is the result of this work.
